Job Description: Essential Day to Day Responsibilities: 1. Derive and deliver Technical Solution and take a leadership role in doing so. 2. Overall Techncial responsibility of the projects assigned 3. Prepare technical strategy and guide the project in implementing it 4. Elementary architectural knowledge 5. Lead a team of 5-7 (SSE/SE) developers. 6. Design, implement, test, and debug software according to schedules 7. Troubleshoot problems and implement appropriate solutions to problems 8. Follow recommended software development methodology standards 9. Document code and procedures used 10. Document efforts expended in work-tracking system 11. Perform other related duties as assigned by management 12. Pro-active customer service attitude 13. Participate in periodic (daily or weekly) review meetings with the Technical Program Manager and/or the Senior Software Architect and/or the global development group to discuss project status, system design and/or product requirements. 14. Day to day interaction with project champions and other stakeholders, including product manager, quality assurance, technical support, software developers and globally-based program management and software development groups. 15. Occasionally support and maintain production programs and data feeds outside normal business hours 16. Occasionally travel (domestic and internationally) to other Thomson facilities on project business 17. Participate during the QA and UAT processes by modifying code to fix any Critical or High defects in order to ensure approval of the deliverable(s) 18. Participate as defined in any Deployment Plans for scheduled or emergency releases 19. Immediately raise issues or risks to the successful and timely completion of deliverables to the Project Manager or immediate supervisor 20. Transform Functional / Business Requirements into appropriate Technical Design document and its timely implementation providing good quality solution. Computer Science Required Skills: 1. Played a key role in at least two implementations of SFDC (Salesforce.com) 2. Excellent communication skills 3. 4-6 years of experience in application development and support of Java/J2ee and Oracle based applications running in the Unix environment 4. Proficiency in Java, J2EE, JSP and SQL. JWS, XML and SOAP experience a plus 5. Knowledge of relational database and UML 6. Must have experience in WebLogic Desired Skills: 1.
